Both of my children have thrived at Evergreen.  They love school and learning thanks to the fun and nurturing first school experience they received at Evergreen.  In a time when kindergarten is the new first grade, my daughter was exceptionally well-prepared to start kindergarten in Belmont with the strong foundation she had at EDS with her social-emotional, pre-reading, and writing skills.  There were also several EDS friends with her in kindergarten which made the elementary school transition that much easier.  Our family loves EDS and are excited that with the new space more families will be able to have the Evergreen experience – it is a phenomenal school and community.   

Our son started at EDS when he was 2 and immediately loved the warm, caring environment at the school. There are many wonderful things about EDS but hands down the teachers make the school.  They provide the caring, patient and child-centered environment that makes preschool feel like an extension of home for the kids.  We really loved our experience at EDS and recommend it to other families.

I am so proud to have had an amazing experience at Evergreen Day School when I was a kid in the 90s, and now to be sending my own toddler this year – it’s come full circle!  EDS is truly the best.  The teachers are warm and thoughtful, the entire professional team is caring and communicative, and the facility is top-notch.  We love the emphasis on creative, open-ended learning and play, the family and teacher connections in the classroom, and the kind, engaged community across the entire school.

I will never forget the lengths that the preschool teachers went to in order to keep our children engaged and happy during the COVID-19 quarantine. It became evident very early on, that the leadership team at EDS was spearheading a program that quickly adapted to the unprecedented times. Nothing but love for EDS now and for forever!

The teachers are warm, encouraging, fun, and provide an amazing first school experience for children. The children spend a good portion of the day outside having fun in the park and exploring nature which is important to us.  We also enjoy getting updates and pictures throughout the day and can communicate with the teachers if needed.  The school has developed COVID protocols so we feel safe sending our child during the pandemic.

Both of my children attended Evergreen. It was a fantastic first school experience for them. The teachers are warm, welcoming and attuned to the children’s developmental needs. We made some lasting friendships among the other families. Highly recommend!

How can we possibly begin to say thank you for the past 9 years!? For 9 years we have had the security and joy that comes from knowing our children are seen, understood, valued & loved every day at school. When we have been at difficult places or struggled with parenting in hard phases, Evergreen has been a lifeline. I never could have known walking in with my spirited, bright (and sometimes challenging!) 3 year old in 2012 how much this school and the teachers would come to mean to me. On their good days our children were celebrated and on their hard days they were given empathy & support. Evergreen has made us better parents, and truly, our hearts will be at Evergreen. Thank you for everything.

Our daughter started at EDS when she was 2 and just finished her fourth and, sadly, final year. We built many close friendships with other families. Our daughter has thrived in the play-based learning environment and is ready for elementary school. The director is warm and caring and gets to know all the children and their families. The staff are so kind and engaged. They build and modify their play-based curriculum in response to what the children are interested in and curious about. They send updates and photos throughout the day and share more highlights at pick-up and drop-off. Our daughter still talks about her teachers from previous years. Thank you, EDS!
